With 40 years of the reform and opening up, China's economy has rapidly developed while the collective consciousness is gradually diminishing, and people of this era pursue the maximization of individual value more. Now, Beijing is like a vast forest, where individual differences, wealth gaps, and a rich life make me a bit lost. As a contemporary youth, I step into the homes of my peers, looking for the most authentic self of myself and other Chinese youths, exploring ways to express diverse views and unique personalities, while searching for the lost Chinese traditional heritage and spiritual sustenance in the context of the era of globalization. When creating this series of works, I was inspired to reappropriate Western tradition of constructed photography, reflecting that life is a fiction of facts, and also a fact of fiction. In the images, everything is mixed, strong cultural conflicts bring about a mix of thoughts, diverse values bring about wavering behavior, and dual standards of measurement bring about hidden crises. Perhaps this is the interweaving of reality and dreams of contemporary Chinese youth, as well as the portrayal of confusion and struggle.
