No Longer, Not Yet is a long-term documentary project that visually interpret the marginalisation and liminality of youth in Tunisia. Initiated in 2022, it examines how the unfulfilled promises of the 2011 revolution—dignity, freedom, opportunity—continue to shape young lives. Following earlier chapters set in the capital and interior regions, where I investigated the legacy of the revolution and the everyday realities of disillusioned youth, the final chapter will focus on Tunisia’s coastline—Sfax, Mahdia and Zarzis—places that serve as both migration launch points and psychological thresholds where identity and longing converge. This chapter will be developed over three weeks of fieldwork, from January 5 to January 25, 2026. I will collaborate with a trusted local network to identify subjects aged 20–36 who are dreaming of leaving or actively preparing their departure. My approach blends photography with informal interviews and field notes. Observational scenes, landscapes, still interiors, and portraits will express the emotional texture of youth suspended between belonging and departure. The Lucie Scholarship will support travel, lodging, and interpretation costs. I aim to produce 10-15 new photographs, 5-10 interviews, an exhibition edit, a photo essay for publication, and a booklet uniting all three chapters into a single, coherent narrative. The project ultimately seeks to deepen understanding of migration and youth through quiet, emotionally resonant storytelling
