Project Dates: January 2022 - Ongoing (planned completion: December 2026) Beirut, Recurring Dream is a long-term photographic and archival project exploring the intersections of memory, war, and place. Rooted in my own displacement from Lebanon during childhood, it weaves together my photographs, family archives, and found images to construct a fractured narrative of Beirut, a city that lives simultaneously in memory and in dream. The work reflects on how photography can exist as testimony and as fiction, holding both loss and reinvention. With support from the Lucie Foundation Scholarship, I will continue producing new images in Beirut, expand archival research, and refine the project’s visual and conceptual framework. The funds will be used for fieldwork, film, developing and scanning, and test prints necessary to shape the project toward exhibition. Goals: 1. Produce at least 25 new photographs in Beirut. 2. Conduct further archival research and digitization of key materials. 3. Create test prints for sequencing and exhibition planning. 4. Organize and scan family archives related to the project. 5. Prepare and submit the work for exhibition opportunities.
