Innerland is an ongoing photographic and installation-based portrait project that explores the inner worlds of Ukrainian creatives, artists, and visionaries living through turbulent times. Pioneering the concept of Inner World Photography (a departure from traditional portraiture, where physical appearance often takes center stage) the artist constructs site-specific installations inspired by human soul. While shifting the focus from appearance to essence, from surface to spirit, these visual environments become poetic maps of resilience, creativity, and renewal, transforming inner worlds into acts of visual triumph. More than a photographic project, Innerland is a living archive of Ukraine’s creative community, capturing their spirit at a pivotal moment in history. Through evocative, hopeful imagery, it offers a powerful testament to human courage, a celebration of imagination, and an invitation to viewers to witness and share in the strength of collective perseverance. Scholarship support will cover travel, accommodations, and materials for building installations, enabling me to expand the series into overlooked areas. My goals for the following 6 months are: - Produce 20 new large-scale Innerland portraits. - Develop site-specific installations reflecting each subject’s inner world. - Amplify visibility of Ukrainian creatives by pairing each image with their name and story. - Present the project internationally through exhibitions, festivals, and press.
