Project Title: The Blue Fig – A Collaborative Portrait of Climate Reality in the Sundarbans Mangrove Forest in Bangladesh Start–End Dates: November 1, 2025 – April 30, 2026 The Blue Fig is a visual documentation of the climate crisis in Bangladesh’s Sundarbans, the world’s largest mangrove forest. It captures the resilience of women battling salinity-related illness, displaced fishermen, and child laborers as they navigate rising sea levels, cyclones, and food insecurity. With scholarship support, I will conduct follow-up fieldwork across seasons in Satkhira, covering travel, accommodation, and printing costs. The project will prioritize ethical storytelling and community collaboration. Goals: Create 20–30 new photographs Produce 10 fine art prints for exhibition Publish a bilingual monograph Hold two exhibitions – one in Satkhira, one abroad Develop a short video/photo essay for advocacy
