I began working on this project in 2021 and intend to complete it by 2025. As an artist deeply committed to exploring the intricate layers of personal and communal histories, I believe this scholarship would provide an invaluable opportunity to advance my project, "Five Sixty Four," and expand its impact on larger communities. The "Five Sixty Four" concept originates from my childhood home at 564 Wyona Street in Brooklyn, New York (East New York). This work examines how underlying traumas contribute to the dark cycle of generational curses, or as science would classify it, generational mental illnesses and disorders. My project consists of two core components. The first involves one-on-one interviews with my family members, where I can hear their stories without interruptions. The second component focuses on photography, capturing the essence of these stories visually.I plan to utilize the scholarship resources for transportation, printing, film, and lighting. With these funds, I will be able to travel, photograph my family, and document other families raised under similar conditions. This will allow me to make faster progress on the project’s development. My five goals for this scholarship are to: 1. Create large prints. 2. Publish a photobook. 3. Organize a gallery exhibition. 4. Reach out to a larger community. 5. Produce a video documenting the project. Thank you for considering my application. This scholarship will significantly support my efforts to bring "Five Sixty Four
